A dark and tense track by the french composer Vladimir Cosma, much more known for his work as a film music composer on a lot of french comedies than for the gems he has done in the library music area. Patchwork 20 focuses on drama atmosphere.
i am 2 hours early for my flight so i am sitting in jfk, at gate 42, watching the sun rise serenely with a fresh cup of ground dirt from dunkin donuts scalding my hand. this is a morning of mixed feelings.
You want credit for copying the work of Henrietta Harris? In any other medium it's called plagiarism.
Hey friend! I’ve addressed the same question once before, but let me go ahead and explain myself one more time since you seem so vehement about the subject. I created my glitch paintings between the space of 2012-early 2014. As a lot of people on the internet were, I was interested in all the “glitch” art being produced, whether it be from artists who went into the latest version of Photoshop and scrutinized every last detail before ending up with a final piece, or teenagers on their MacBooks screwing around with photos on text edit to distort clippings of their hands and faces. A skeptic would probably not believe this but I had zero, let me repeat, ZERO exposure to her art while creating mine. I had been experimenting with glitch and distortions of the face long before I ever saw a single piece of Harris’s, and my portfolio’s works integrate themselves in a style that is nothing like Harris’s. I only looked her and her body of work up after another person called plagiarism on me. First of all, I believe that it is unfair to attribute every glitch, smear, and distortion artwork/painting to Henrietta Harris when many people have been making distortion work commercially and non-professionally years/decades before she did, and artists of all calibers will be experimenting with the subject long after her. Secondly, I don’t believe the type of distortions we use are similar, and we use different mediums and color palettes. And finally, if you’re going to say I drew inspiration/”blatantly plagiarized” anybody, let me set the record straight and say that I love Gerhard Richter’s work and I definitely try to evoke the same emotion, dynamism, and color palettes in my own art. You can also go ahead and tell Harris that she’s ripped off Richter; he’s been doing smear art and distortion for ages. I think it would also be a good idea to round up all the artists of late who utilize technology to either inspire or drive the distortion aspect of their art and start pointing fingers between all of us; I’m sure you can occupy your vigilante mind with that. And once that gets stale after nobody but me gives you the time of day, you can start kicking up old bones and sending letters to the graves of old masters—more than 1 person involved in cubism?! They must all be copying each other. It’s a moot point to try and pick two artists out of a relatively recent art style and pit them against each other when dozens, if not exponentially more artists are involved, using the same processes and inspirations. I think you’re riled up because you saw two artists using a similar motif and you struck the student work before thinking about all the nuances of each of our bodies of work. Anyway, that about covers it! Shoot me a message off anon and I’d be more than happy to send you emails of other artists that employ similar distortions that you can harass, and I could even give you a brief history lesson and point out art movements with individuals involved who happened to use the same/similar techniques as their contemporaries. Talk to you soon! :—)
i have to face a new strain of idiot in new york when it comes to street harassment!! since when do men think a feasible strategy to approach me with is to shout out greetings in random eastern asian languages? ni hao, konichiwa?? racist as hell, ignorant, pathetic, and when i hear it two times a day it really gets under my skin…
hello friends! recently i fell upon some luck and my close friend happened to gather enough miles with her airline to fly me out to nyc to stay with her for 13 days!! she will be working 4 days a week so i’ll be alone pretty often. anyway, i would really appreciate if anyone could suggest cool things to do/see while i am there, and if…….. you wanted to hang out….. grab coffee… that would be very nice and please shoot me a message if that happens 2 be the case!!!
can you explain the difference between fetishizing asians and preferring asian facial features (finding them ideal, the best looking)?
please show me an example of universal “asian” facial features.
you like small eyes? some asians got big eyes. some white ppl got small eyes. you like high cheekbones? do people of other races not have high cheekbones? are there not asians without high cheekbones? just what do you mean when you talk about “asian facial features”???
when you say “asians” do you mean central asia and south asia too? are you talking india? kyrgyzstan? uzbekistan? sri lanka? pakistan? or just east asia? just china and korea and japan? think about it for a sec.
You look so ugly with blonde hair and short ass bangs.
Wow, this might just be the most flattering message I have ever received! I cannot believe that someone was so riled up by a hairstyle that they took the time out of their day to come into my space to attack me when there’s so much bullshit going on with the world! Somebody prioritized ME over genuinely important matters! Congratulations, friend. You have truly left your mark on this world, brave comrade. *fluffs hair and continues to pay attention to real-world issues and my hate-free life*
witnessed a small 12 year old girl commandeer an entire Jamba Juice staff with claims that they got her 5-drink order wrong and put a hold on all store operations for over 8 minutes while they desperately try to meet her needs. amazing. she’s going to grow up to do incredible things (like maybe winning massive sums in trivial lawsuits)
don't u feel like buying from china is supporting child labor/sweatshops...??
hello friend! i feel that sweatshop labor is a very catch-22 situation and if you’d like me to go into detail with you, please message me off anon. or you can research it on your own, as well. please keep in mind that while child labor unfortunately does exist in sweatshops, they are separate entities. another thing to note is that some people do not have the privilege to make sure everything they purchase is fair trade. i look forward to the possibility of talking to you!
